Views from the Porch Swing ~ November 2011

Thanksgiving is quickly approaching, and we have so much to be thankful for this year.   We were once again blessed with a garden that produced well enough for us to eat, share and preserve some goodies for winter.  And our daughter was accepted into Michigan State University’s 2012 Organ Farmer Training Program.  We are very excited for her, and amazed by all the different ways God has directed and provided.I could go on for a good long while with the many blessings, but would not miss the opportunity to give thanks for all of you.  We pray that you will have a wonderful Thanksgiving full of memory making moments with family and friends!

Looking Ahead
We have some nice Longaberger coming up in November.  Quite a few of these pieces were restocked on the website over the weekend.  And we have many more that will need new pictures and updated descriptions.  Watch the blog for New and Restockeditems.  It will be updated, at least, twice this month. Here’s a hint about what’s coming:  USA Pottery ~ More replacement pieces including the ladle and lid for the retired Hostess Soup Tureen;  Large and Small Pasta Bowls;  Crocks;  Mixing Bowls;  Napkin Rings; and Custard Cups. Wrought Iron ~ 10 Arm Basket Tree and Envelope Rack.  Baskets ~ a rare 1981 Grandma Bonnie Bread and Milk;  1991 JW Corn;  Doll Cradle;  All American baskets;  Christmas Baskets and many more…stay tuned!
Made in the USA again?
A friend posted a link to this news story on FaceBook, and I thought that Thanksgiving was a great time to share it.  It is the story of a historic mill, a town, two brothers, and how they’ve come together to revive a bankrupt woolen mill in Minnesota (two years after it closed).
